Debbie at the zoo    I got a headstart on this summer by going to the Philadelphia zoo.  I hope you get a chance to check out your local zoo this summer.
Cassidy, Marcia T. Jones is a friend.  We used to teach Ghosts Be Goneat the same school in Kentucky.  She still lives in Kentucky, but I live in Pennslyvania.  Once a month I meet with a group of writers.  We read each others work and make suggestions on how to make our stories better.  It's called a critique group and it's a great thing for a writer to do.  I do think Cassidy is a pretty name.  It's special just to the Ghostville Elementary books.
Angela and fd, my first book came out in 1990.  Auburn and Micaelah, good luck with reading all my books this summer!  You guys rock!  You must be awesome readers.  You might like to keep track on my summer bookmark.  Thanks for your suggestion on keeping my neighbor's cat out of my birdfeeder.  I have an iron fence and the cat just jumps between the bars!  This summer I plan to spend a week at the beach with my family and another week visiting my mom in Kentucky.  I still need to finish my summer list of things I want to do.  ttyl, Debbie

It was so hot I got sick.  I think I had heat Mummies Don't Coach Softballstroke-I felt like throwing up and I ached all over.  Be careful and don't get too hot!
Monica, Abby, and Auburn, I'm so glad you like my books.  Do you have a favorite?  Auburn, I definitely think you can read all the Bailey School Kids books.  I think it's good to have goals.  In fact, every summer my family comes up with a list of things they want to do in the summer:  things like Angels Don't Know Karatego on a picnic or go on a hike or read certain books.  I just realized it's time for me to get busy on my list.  Maybe you guys will want to make up a summer list of your own.  Auburn, I have three great and sometimes noisy dogs.  They have been upset lately because our neighbor's cat keeps coming in our fenced yard.  How can we keep it out?
Angelina, I like your name.  There is an Angela in Angels Vampires Don't Wear Polka DotsDon't Know Karate, but no Angelina-yet :).  I'm so glad you like Vampires Don't Wear Polka Dots.  Steven, good luck to you and your sister with your story.  You guys might want to check out my writing page for tips.
I played two tennis matches last week:  I lost one and won one so I'm happy.  Most importantly I had fun and got some exercise.   I was sorry to see the Flyers loose in a heart-Ghost Classbreaking Stanley Cup overtime loss, but congratulations to the Chicago Black Hawks.
Cassidy, did you know I have a whole series with you as one of the main characters?  Cassidy is in all the Ghostville Elementary books.  I have been an author since my first book came out in 1990.  Of course, I'd love to be friends!  Hayley, here's a picture of me writing with my dog Shadow.  Be careful what you send over the Internet.  Things can be traced back to the computer you used.  Debbie in her office
Mathilde, I do hope we get to write more Bailey School Kids books.  They're fun to write!  Indu, did you laugh when you read Vampires Do Hunt Marshmallow Bunnies?
Hey guys, here's something new you Vampires Do Hunt Marshmallow Bunniesmight like to check out this summer with your parents, ePubBud.com.  Evidently you can publish your own stories to go on the iPad.  I don't have an iPad, but this sounds cool.  brb, Debbie

Steven, I had to laugh at the idea of Eddie doing lots and Swamp Monster in Third Grade serieslots of homework AND the thought of him drawing a mustache on his rear end!  Too funny!  Eddie's mother had cancer, which was not funny at all.  Happy Birthday to you and thanks for all your great ideas.
Marianne, Marcia and I had considered writing a medusa story before.  I think it could be fun.  Danielle, I'm so glad you like my series.  Which one is your favorite?  You can check out the different ones on my book page.  Maybe you'd like to try my Swamp Monster in Third Grade Ghosts Do Splash in Puddlesseries.
Frank and Rick, do you think there was a real ghost in Ghosts Do Splash in Puddles?  I think there might be!  If you like ghost stories you might like to try Ghosts Don't Eat Potato Chips or the Ghostville Elementary series.
Hayley, it sounds like you had a great Memorial Day weekend.  I did too.  It's good that we remember all the soldiers who gave everything so that we might have freedom.   Hadley, your story sounds Ghost Gamefun.  What if she finds a husband in a visiting general from another country or maybe in one of her body guards?
Summer is coming!!  Maybe you are already out of school.  I hope you'll print off my summer reading bookmark.   There's even a part you can give to your next year's teacher.  I love summer reading!  Go Flyers!  God bless, Debbie

Any hockey fans out there?  Frankenstein Doesn't Slam Hockey PucksI'm so excited about the Flyers going to the Stanley Cup Playoffs!  How cool is that?  My oldest son Nathan played hockey when we lived in the Chicago area.  Now I have to choose between the Flyers and the Black Hawks.  Sorry Chicago, I live in the Philadelphia area now.
Steven, thanks for your ideas.  Say hi to Marianne for me.  I have some questions to Debbie in my FAQ (frequently asked questions).  Is that what you meant?  Unfortunately Eddie's mother died from an illness.
This Side of Magic, Keyholder #1 Katie, I hope there's more Keyholder books as well.  You must be a great reader to read all four in one weekend!  Sammy, I do like putting creatures in my stories.  This Side of Magic has a boy in a pink tutu that changes into an evil boggart and a cute little cat that changes into a huge panther.  The neat thing about writing stories is that anything can happen!
Gabe, I'm so glad you liked Whistler's Hollow.  That story means a lot to me because it was based on Whistler's Hollowsomething that happened to my grandmother, Lillie Bailey.  She was a very special lady.
Lorainne and Cailey, I's so glad you like the Bailey School Kids books.  Do you have a favorite book?  Howie is a bit like my husband, who is very smart in science and math.  Steven, thanks for the joke.  I love bread too-expecially the warm homemade kind!  Jayliza, did you know I used to be a librarian?  Guess that was part of the Wizards don't Need Computersinspiration for Wizards Don't Need Computers.  Do you think I'm a wizard?  I definitely don't have a white beard.  Glad you enjoyed that story.
I know some kids are out for summer break, but my kids still have 3 weeks left!  brb. Debbie
