Debbie and DraculaYikes!  It's me and Dracula.  I'm hoping that's as close as I ever come to a vampire.  Actually, Dracula Doesn't Rock and Rollthis Dracula has wax in his ears.  In fact, he's all wax.  He was in a cool wax museum in Gatlinburg, Tennessee.  I must like Dracula though because I've written several books about him.  One of my favorites is Dracula Doesn't Rock and Roll.
Hey Fred, I think it would be so cool to visit China and stand on the Great Wall.  Of course, you're a lot closer to it than I am, but I'm putting it on my to do list.  Speaking of lists, I'm almost done with my Aliens Don't Wear BracesSummer 2009 list of things to do.  I had 20 things on my list and I have 6 more to go.  (Did you do a summer list?  How's it going?) I'd better get busy, because summer is zooming past.  The LA Times did some book reviews by kids this summer and nice guy, Eric, did a review of Aliens Don't Wear Polka Dots.  Thanks Eric!  Take care and enjoy the rest of your summer, Debbie

Debbie in TennesseeHi!  I just got back from the Smoky Mountains in Tennessee.  I got to hike, have a family reunion, and visit some friends.  I'll be putting some of their pictures on my homepage and in my photo album.  Helen, it's good to hear from you.  See you soon.  Jerry, I have Marcia Jonesheard of the authors you mentioned.  Margarett Mitchell is one of my favorites.  Yes Katie, Marcia is my best friend.  Bill, it's hard to pick my favorite character from the Bailey School Kids, but I must admit that I do have a soft spot for Eddie.  Sonja, there are several different reasons why some series are written by different people.  Sometimes the author starts a series and gets tired of it and wants someone else to help them.  Sometimes the author dies and the publisher asks other people to Debbie and Frankensteincontinue the series.  Sometimes the publisher plans the series and asks if authors are interested in writing some of the books.  That's what happened Frankenstein Doesn't Plant Petuniaswith 39 Clues I believe.  I'm glad you like the Bailey School Kids books.  Have you checked out Frankenstein Doesn't Plant Petunias?  I was able to catch up with Frankenstein in Tennessee.
Fred, I have been lucky enough to travel to other countries, like France, England, Scotland, Italy, Greece, Croatia, Mexico, Canada, Beligum, Germany, Switzerland, and Austria.  I like to visit places to see how other people live.  The most interesting thing I've found out is that there are nice people everywhere.  There are many other places I'd like to visit, like the states of Maine, Washington, and Oregon; as well as the country of Australia.  Is there somewhere you would like to visit?  Best, Debbie

Where are you sun? It's raining-it's pouring-I think we're getting flooded.  No kidding, there's water everywhere.  On the roads, yards, but thankfully  not in our house.  Hopefully it's not in anyone's house where it's not supposed to be.  Dragons Do Throw SnowballsIt just doesn't seem to want to stop raining.  It made me think of Dragons Don't Throw Snowballs, where it didn't want to stop snowing.  Did you know that story was based on a true story of a school where they actually did get trapped by a blizzard and had to spend the night in their gym?  I visited that school.  Luckily it didn't happen when I was there.  (How would you like that to happen at your school?)
Matthew, I hope you're having a great summer and not getting too much rain where you live.  Alexa, I love to write and don't ever want to stop!  I'm fine (except for the rain!).
Brittany, your ideas were so funny, especially the poker one.  I hope you and your mom are getting along better.  If I was you, I'd be upset with your friend.  But hopefully you guys are all happy again by now.    Naruto, I probably can't use your name in a book because I'm sure it is trademarked because of the games, cards, and shows.    Stay out of the rain and have a go0d week!  Read and be cool.  Many blessings, Debbie

Feeling adventurous?  Try going on a quest - a webquest that is.  Boldly go where no kid has ever gone before and seek out answers to solve the world's problems . . . okay maybe just have fun!  After all, that's what summer is all about.  I hope you'll have fun reading one of my summer favorites, Trolls Don't Rider Roller CoastersTrolls Don't Rider Roller Coasters.  Of course, I have to tell you that I'm like Liza-scared of roller coasters.  Are you braver than me?
Right now I'm definitely not feeling brave.  I'm feeling quite sick.  I ate way too much pizza last night and my stomach feels terrible!  It tasted so good I got carried away and now my Dragons Don't Cook Pizzastomach is mad at me!  You can probably tell I like pizza because of my book, Dragons Don't Cook Pizza.  In fact, you can probably tell I like dragons because I've written around six books about dragons.  Do you know what they are?  There's another webquest for you, seek out the dragons!    And don't forget to tell me what you want to have next on the homepage storyMermaids Don't Run TrackNikki, I like all of my books so it's hard for me to say which story I like best.  Since everyone likes different types of stories, which one do you think is best?  (Another one of my favorties for summer is Mermaids Don't Run Track.)  Muhammed, I love the start of your baseball story.  I hope you're having fun with it and I'd glad you Mrs. Claus Doesn't Climb Telephone Polesliked Mrs. Claus Doesn't Climb Telephone Poles
Dale, thanks for your great ideas.  You are very clever.  Nathan, Matthew, and Alex, thanks for your super input on the homepage story.  Brittany, right now I'm working on two stories-the silliest story I can write and one with Marcia Jones.  I just finished writing two chapters for that one yesterday.  Let's just say it involved slime and potato chips!  ttyl, Debbie

Mummies Don't Coach SoftballSummer reading is great!  Fatima, I'm so glad you like my books.  Have you tried Mummies Don't Coach Softball?  The idea for it came from a really creepy mummy exhibit at the Field Museum in Chicago.  If you ever get to Chicago, you should check out the mummy exhibit.  It's cool.
Ryan, your zombie idea was so funny!  (Zombies Don't Wear Clean Zombies Don't Play SoccerUnderwear)  My zombie book is Zombies Don't Play Soccer.  I got the idea for that book from my kids playing soccer.  In fact, my son is getting ready to play soccer right now.
I had a lot of company this week so I didn't make it to the ocean.  (My company didn't want to go.)  I'm still working on my summer list of things to do.  I've finished 8 things, but still have 12 more to go.  I guess I'd better get busy!  Hope your summer is going well, Debbie
