Liza from the Bailey School KidsHappy Holidays from Liza and Debbie Dadey!  Liza's favorite holiday book is definitely Unicorns Don't Give Sleigh Rides.  She loves horses (just like me).  I always wanted one when I was growing up.  Does every kid dream of that or was that just me?  Tiffany, you can find out more about Liza for your report at meet Liza on my Swamp Page.  She lives on the same Unicorns Don't Give Sleigh Ridesstreet as Eddie and Melody, although the name is never given in any books.  There is a map of Bailey City in Mrs. Jeepers is Missing you might want to check it out.  You sound like a fabulous reader.  My book report page might be helpful as well.  Lexi, you're awesome too.  Thanks for writing, Debbie  (Just found out there's a new cover for Unicorns Don't Give Sleigh Rides-check it out on Amazon.com._

Debbie Dadey and SkipGreetings from Skippy and me!  As you can probably tell, Skippy wasn't too thrilled to be dressed up as Santa, but he was a good sport, especially since he got a treat for his trouble.  I hope you'll check out the readings from some of my favorite Christmas stories on my home page
Ren, I have lots of favorite books, including Mrs. Jeepers Creepy Christmas and Reindeer Do Wear Striped Underwear.  My favorite part of Leprechauns Don't Play Basketball was the honey-bee waltz.  What about Leprechauns Don't Play Basketballyou?  Chad, I can't wait for Keyholders to come out.  It'll be in bookstores by the end of April.  A big hello to my friend Eleanor.  (I like Eddie too!) Abby, Brewbaker's Brew was in Mrs. Jeepers is Missing.  The recipe was pretty long, so I've shorten it for you here:
Brewbaker's Brew:  Mix together 6 cups of orange juice, one Tablespoon of sugar, and one cup milk.  It you put it in a blender, it makes it much better.  Strawberries (also known as zombie eyeballs) make a good garnish for the rim of your glass.  Enjoy for the holidays!  brb, Debbie

Welcome to December!  I hope you like my Christmas podcast on my homepage.  Isn't this an exciting month?  I love getting ready for Christmas.  For me, it's the most fun time of the year.
Hongjoon, I think I have a pretty happy, easy-going personality most of the year.  I think I'm pretty optimistic too.  I had a goal to get a book published and now I've written over 140!  I think it's good to have goals.  I have a goal to write the funniest book I can.  Have any of you ever had anything funny happen to you?  Tell me about it, perhaps I can put it in my book.  Hongjoon, major events in my life were getting married and having my children, as well as being confirmed in my church.  I like to think my books have made a good contribution to society, as well as my volunteering, but I know my children are my greatest contribution.  They are wonderful people and I love them very much.  Hongjoon, you and Wyatt should check out my book report page, as well as the about me on the events page.  I think it will help you with your reports.
Lauren and Jessika, I'm so glad you like my books.   Take care, Debbie

Happy Thanksgiving!Debbie Dad;ey  Hope you are off from school and having a great time.  My kids slept late, skateboarded, shopped, watched TV, and actually did homework!  We're excited to go to New York City later this week to see the Radio City Christmas Show and check out the Ninja New York Restaurant.  My favorite thing is that my oldest son is home from college visiting.  Hurrah!
Polina, I love your fun idea.  Have you read Mermaids Don't Run Track?  Summer, I'm glad you wrote.  I'm a lot older than you and I still like reading Lizards in the Lunch Linekid's books!  Hi to Lydia and your librarian.  Robert, I do think lizards are interesting, but I think you know more about them than I do.  I think Dominick was a stinker in Lizards in The Lunch Line don't you?
Mason, what book did you read?  I'm glad you liked it.  Courtney, you totally made my day.  Thanks for writing, Debbie

Wednesday November 19, 2008

I'm writing on Wednesday instead of Monday for a sad reason.  My mother-in-law Ruth Dadey died and her funeral was Monday.  She was a really nice lady with a fun streak in her.  She will be missed.  She always made Christmas special for her family.
Allie, I'm glad you liked Santa Claus Doesn't Mop Santa Claus Doesn't Mop FloorsFloors because it's one of my favorites too.  Kara, I'm glad you liked Leprechauns Don't Play Basketball.  If it wasn't for that book, I never would have learned how to spell leprechauns.  Did you know I'm from Kentucky and in Kentucky it's the law you have to like basketball?
David, you are observant.  The one thing you missed was that Eddie and Melody went in and left through the basement door.  The ghostly lady opened the front door in Vampires Don't Wear Polka Dots.  Kyle, there are over 70 Bailey School Kids books.  Courtney, I'm glad you liked one of my Ghostville Elementary books.  Did you know it's a whole series?  I hope you'll check out more of them.
Alfred, my real name is Debra Dadey.  I was born a long long time ago.  I have had lots of most important moments, like getting married and having my children and being baptised.  I have a wonderful family with a great husband and three awesome children, who always do want their mother says.  Ha!
Savannah, I have many favorite books.  One is The Worst Name in Third Grade.  To be a writer, all you have to do is write.  I think the more you write, the better you become. Reading lots of books is helpful too.  I hope you'll check out my writer's page.  It have some ideas that your writer's group might like to use.
Jenna, the idea for the first Bailey School Kids book came from a really bad day.  The kids in the books are not real, but like some real kids I have known.  My mother even said I was a little bit like Eddie!  Take care, Debbie
