Joei, it's so cool that you made someone laugh.  I love it!  Trouble at Trident AcademyHope you liked Trouble at Trident Academy.  Have you seen my mini video about it?  Dedmas, please keep in mind that anything posted on the Internet can be traced back to you.  Will, I'm so glad you like Pirates Don't Wear Pink Sunglasses.  I went to a school once where every kid wore pink sunglasses.  That definitely made me laugh!  Ashwin, your idea was great!  Yes, one of my ancestors did fight in the Revolutionary War.  His name was Joel Gibson.  Eleanor, I was 27 when I started writing.  Kelsey, my favorite series is the Adventures of the Bailey School Kids.  My least favorite book is Buffalo Bill and the Pony Express.  I have tons of favorites.  ttyl, Debbie

Hey Eleanor, my least favorite is Buffalo Bill and the Pony Express and I have lots of favorites, including Trouble at Trident Academy.  Big hello to Kelsey, Griffin, and Elli!  Thanks for all the birthday cards from Woodfill and Bethany schools.  I had so much fun reading them!  Sydney L., I hope you had a good birthday yesterday too. Sam, have a great birthday today! I started writing in Wizards Don't Need ComputersLexington, KY.  Nathaniel and Gunner, I have written 151 books. Noelle, I'm glad you like Wizards Don't Need Computers.  Ethan, it's fun being an author.   Aaron, my first book was Vampires Don't Wear Polka Dots.  Alyssa, I get ideas from everywhere, including schools I visit!  Anna Lee, I have heard of Joan Holub, but I'm not writing anything with her.   Elli, I'm glad you did an author study on me too!  Thanks so much for the chocolates!  Hope to see you all at the Blue Marble today.  I'll be there from 1-3:00.  ttyl, Debbie

Hey Carlee and Teagan, you might like to check out my writing tips.  Good luck with your writing!  Faith, it is hard to keep going sometimes, but I just take a break.  Hello to Mason and Caraline.  Caraline, I do like mysteries.  My grandmother had a mystery happen to her that I put in the book Whistler's Hollow.
     Mrs. Layman's Kindergartens, it was great to meet you!  Vampires Don't Wear Polka DotsJacob S., Anna, and Hannah W., your school is awesome. Katelyn, I loved the polka dots! My favorite authors are Marcia Jones, Nathan Dadey, and Becky Dadey.  Madeline and Carly, I have three dogs.  Isabella, I love dog stories!  Gracie and McKenzie, I love to read so that definitely helped inspire me to write my own stories.  My first book was Vampires Don't Wear Polka Dots.  Nina, I hope you'll like it!  Addison and Garrett, thanks for the birthday wishes.
     Christina, Nathan is in graduate school  now. Tori B., Troll bookEmily, John, Emrel, and Tianna I'm glad you liked Trolls Don't Ride Rollercoasters.   Emrel, there are 51 numbered Bailey School Kids books, but there are also Super Specials and Holiday Specials.  Tianna, I am scared of roller coasters!  Jaclyn, you sound like an awesome reader!  A big hello to Mia, Jillian, Laney, Paige, Noah, Madeline, and Kelsey.  Gwen, your idea was funny.  I liked the pink boxer shorts.  Griffin, I hope you will try one.  Maddy, the names for the Bailey School Kids came from a phone book.  Emma and Marlena, I get ideas from everywhere, even vacations!  Laura, I'd love to see your wax museum.  I hope you can go to the Blue Marble.  I'll be there tomorrow from 1-3:00. Christina, enjoy your last week of school.  My son still has several weeks left.  Teagan, hope you'll check out my writing Mermaid bookpage for advice.  Good luck with your book!  Garrett, the idea for my newest book came from a vacation to the beach.  Heather, my daughter and I just finished a book together.  We hope it gets published.  Lily and Zoie, I hope you enjoy Mermaids Don't Run Track.
     Keya, afaic means as far as I'm concerned.  You can find out about Bridgett's slang here.   Hailey, my favorite part of Santa Claus Doesn't Mop Floors is when Eddie toilet papers the teacher's lounge!  I hope you never do that!Santa Claus book

Hi Halle, my first book came out in 1990.  My son, Nathan, mermaid bookhas helped me write two books:  Slime Wars and Slime Time.  My daughter, Becky, and I have finished writing one that we hope to get published.  I have written 151 stories that have been made into books.  I do like mermaids!  The idea for the Bailey School Kids books came from a bad day.  I hope you'llWitch book enjoy Vampires Don't Wear Polka Dots and the Mermaid Tales.  Thanks for the birthday wishes.
     Mrs. Klei's first graders, I am looking forward to visiting you.  I hope Witches Don't Do Backflips isn't too scary for you.  The skydiving was research for a book called Almost Normal which isn't published yet, but I hope it will be!  Mr. Jarrell's first graders, can you guess which fairy tale we used Giant bookas inspiration for Giants Don't Go Snowboarding?  Maybe you can write a story based on a fairy tale too.   Your teacher might like to look at this for some additional activities.  Kate, I have many favorites, including Trouble at Trident Academy.
