Dear Emily and Kelly, I think it's awesome that you like to write. I do too! In fact, I have a writing page on my website that I hope you'll visit. There is a very silly writing video, some podcasts to listen to, and even some acitivies you might like to try to help your writing. Here are some Mermaid writing activities. Emily, I think it would definitely be cool if there really are mermaids. Who knows what is at the bottom of the ocean? There are places down there that no human has ever been. Hi Kelly, so happy you liked Trouble at Trident Academy. Yes, there will be more Mermaid Tales books. I am actually writing #16 right now.
Hi JJ, thanks for writing for your sisters. To answer Penny, I just had a birthday! I was born on May 18, 1959. Opal, it takes different amounts of time for me to write a book. The shortest: two weeks/the longest: eight years! I hope Kayla will check out the videos, podcasts, and activities on my writing page. I hope it helps! JJ, I had a pretty good childhood, although we didn't have a lot of money. We did go camping and even boat riding on the Ohio River. I had a dog named Spike that I loved a lot! I loved to read and that certainly helped inspire me to want to write. Hello to your brothers. Did you know I have a brother named Frank too?

Happy Monday morning Marissa! I'm so happy that Frankenstein Doesn't Slam Hockey Pucks you enjoy the Mermaid Tales series. Thanks so much for your fun idea for the Bailey School Kids series. Did you know that there are several sports Bailey School Kids books, such as Leprechauns Don't Play Basketball, Bogeymen Don't Play Football, Zombies Don't Play Soccer, Dracula Doesn't Play Kickball, and Mummies Don't Coach Softball? Of those sports books, I'd say Leprechauns Don't Play Baskeball and Zombies Don't Play Soccer are my favorites. Do you have a favorite?

Hi Beatrix, I'm so glad you like the Mermaid Tales series. How fun to have your own mermaid tail! I actually made one and my daughter wore it to some of my booksignings. I have been on a diet and I told my daughter if I reach my goal I would wear my mermaid costume. Do you think I should? Alysha, I hope you'll find book #11, The Polar Bear Express, at your library or bookstore. If they don't have it, ask them to order it.
Matt, your school is amazing. I've never been to a school that has an author event like yours every year. Luke, I don't have any new books coming out in June. Dylan, I just had The Polar Bear Express come out this month and in September I have Mermaid Tales #12 coming out (Wish Upon A Starfish).
