Hi Sydney, Isabella, Ava, Parker, Izzy, Alysha! I am looking forward to visiting your school. Did you know I don't live very far from it? Isabella and Parker, I'm so glad you like the Mermaid Tales. Do you have a favorite one? Parker, tell Mrs. Thomas I said hello. She sounds like a great librarian.
Helen, I am delighted that you like Vampire Trouble. Kilmer's grandmother is certainly different, isn't she? I had a wonderful grandmother named Lillie Bailey. Hi Lucy, I am so glad you are enjoying the Mermaid Tales books. Good news! Book #11, The Polar Bear Express, will come out on May 19th. In this story, Kiki tries to save a lost polar bear cub (with her friend's help, of course). Ask your local bookstore and library to get it and all the others.
Kate, my first book came out 25 years ago! I would give writing a 10! I get ideas from everywhere. For instance, Angels Don't Know Karate came from my son taking karate lessons. Then, I started taking them too to help write the book (and to have fun with my son). The idea for Aliens Don't Wear Braces actually came from some students in my friend Marcia's classroom. Hi Bernadette, I'm so happy that you are enjoying the Mermaid Tales books. I'm not sure why your school didn't offer them for sale, but you can get them here or at your local bookstore.
