This question looms over our heads:
Will the first day of school be a horror or a hurrah?
Kevin!!, I hope it's great for you and everyone who's reading this. I only like horror when it's not real! Leilani, do I know your grandmother? If so, she's a great lady (Linda).
Stephanie, the Bailey City Monsters series is all done, but Marcia Jones and I are talking about starting a new series. It's pretty exciting so I can't wait to see what happens. Hurrah to Vanessa and Selena, you guys sound like fabulous readers.
Brenton from OZ, I don't know how to write a movie (that's why it's taking me so long). I'm learning as I'm going. Jordan from Mrs. Relyea's class, thanks for writing in. I mailed some books to your class today. Because I just moved, most of my books are still in boxes in my basement. But I was able to find some to send your way. You all could win lots of books for your class. Brittany, I hope you'll try it too. If you'd like to win books, try out our Bridgett Butt Postcard Contest. The more the merrier! Put your school on the MAP !
Take care, Debbie

As Eddie would say, "Holey Toledo! Summer is almost over!" Are you ready? I know I'm not, but believe it or not my kids are looking forward to meeting new friends at their new schools. It's a bit scary going to a new school, so I hope it goes well. I've been busy brainstorming new BSK Jr. ideas. I love funny titles so that's what I'm searching for. Do you have a funny title idea for the new Junior series?
Now, back to summer. Is there something you haven't done that you want to? It's not too late! Do it now. I want to paint a picture, so I'd better get going. I also want to finish my screenplay. Let's get going!
Happy end of summer, Debbie

Happy August! I just got back early this morning from my vacation. I saw
some awesome sights in Athens, Greece and went swimming in the Mediterranean
Sea. The water was turquoise and so cold! I think my favorite part of the trip
was watching the beautiful sunsets over the water. I hope to post some pictures
Now, it's back to reality. I did get some fun ideas for new stories which I jotted down in the notebook I carry with me. (Note: if you like to write, carry a small notebook with you at all times. You never know when a great idea will hit you.)
Kasey, you can contact many authors through their websites (just try googling their names). Also, if you prefer snail mail, you can write to authors via their publishers. Just look in one of their books on what's called the copyright page (where the date where it's made is shown) and write to them in care of the address that's on that page.
Isabella. I'm so glad you liked Werewolves Don't Go To Summer Camp. Dragons Do Eat Homework is my next book, coming out soon. Check out http://debbiedadey.com/Swamp/BookReport.php to find out more about me.
Brittany, Amanda and Mora, congrats on finishing the summer reading program!! And additional congratulations to Amanda on her new baby brother. How cool is that? Brittany, your story sounds totally cool. Was summer camp fun or did you meet up with any werewolves? Good luck with Mrs. A. in 4th grade.
Erica, I'm glad you like the Ghostville stories. Ozzy is one of my favoirte characters too. Kevin, I'm looking forward to Creepy Christmas coming out too.
and have a good week.
Let's enjoy summer while we can, Debbie

Best wishes to Brittany in fourth grade. I loved fourth grade. My teacher
was Mrs. Forker and I thought she was the best teacher ever-kind of like
Bridgett liked her teacher in The Worst Name in Third Grade.
Mary Anne, we hope to have part of Mrs. Jeepers Creepy Christmas up this
week for you to read. Check back.
Kevin, I didn't know about blogspot.com. It's cool, just be careful not to put anything that tells where you live, etc. Congratulations to Kevin on completing the Debbie Dadey summer reading. That is awesome.
Summer is about half over-can you believe it? Yes, even though it rained hard here I did have a nice fourth of July. We could see five sets of fireworks from our new house! It was cool.
Best wishes for a great week, Debbie

HELLO PHILLY! I just moved into my new house about an hour from Philadelphia. Is moving hard or what? The nice thing is that our neighbors seem very nice and friendly. I feel like I've already made new friends. The yucky thing is that I still have many many boxes to unpack. Has anyone else moved this summer? Has anyone else gone to see the new Harry Potter movie? I saw it yesterday. I thought it was pretty good.
Greetings to Becky and Kayla. Yes, Marcia is fine. I know her husband helps her with her website. I pay my wonderful webmasters, who are good friends. By the way, they are very protective of me. If they feel like someone writes something that would hurt my feelings or that is inappropriate they don't even show it to me.Hey Natalie, I love to read too. Today I will read my advance copy of Dragons DO Eat Homework that will come out when school starts. Ruchi, I saw a bunny yesterday too. It was in my neighbor's yard and so cute. I was glad it wasn't in my yard because my dogs would have chased it. Yes, I did take a break from writing with all my moving and I am so ready to get back to it. I'm glad you liked The Worst Name in Third Grade. I like Bridgett so much. It would be fun to write another book about her. Ruchi, you might like to click on to try the Draw with Mrs. Zork activities.
Hi to the big travelers Amanda, Aziywsa, and Mora. Congratulations to Cailou from Canada. She is the second to tell me she finished the Debbie Dadey Summer Reading Program. That's awesome!!!! Walden, it would be so exciting to visit Serbia. I hope your school will invite me.
LOL Kevin!! As for the sneak peak, my editor just got back from a trip to Australia (maybe she saw Brenton) and should have news for me soon.
Yalini, click on http://www.debbiedadey.com/Teachers/?sid=158
read Gnomes Don't Slurp Spaghetti. You could even perform it with some of
your friends for a backyard play.
Best wishes for lots of summer fun, Debbie
