    Hi Gabby, I'm so happy you like the Bailey School Kids books.  Eddie, Melody, Howie, and Liza are good friends of mine.  When I write about them, of course I put myself in their shoes-what are they thinking and feeling?  I think an author must do that for any character.  It's sort of like being an actor in a play, but instead of saying what the actor is thinking a writer writes it down.  Hope you'll check out About Me for your report.  brb, Debbie

 Yippee!  School is almost out for Thanksgiving vacation and that means my son Nathan will be coming home from college.  Hurrah!  We can't wait. 
     Gabrielle, Marcia Jones and I got the names for most of the Bailey School Kids from one of the biggest sources of names we know-the phone book.  It's a great place for character's names.  A baby name book is also very helpful.  I got the name for The Worst Name in Third Grade from the phone book.
