Debbie – Growing Up

Debbie as a baby

Debbie worked at McDonalds in high school and college.

Brownie Debbie

Debbie still tries to play piano!

That’s Debbie on top. Every year she was in a ski show.

Debbie’s first car. She cooked a lot of burgers to pay for it!

That’s Debbie and her dad at
Wolf Creek Pass in Colorado
when she was in college.

 When Debbie was growing up,
Spike was her best friend.  She told him all her troubles.

Debbie’s grandmother, Lillie
Bailey,was the best. Whistler’s
Hollow was written about her.

Debbie’s room was her favorite
color – blue.  Of course
there were books there
  because she loved to read
  then-she still does!

Can you believe
Debbie was a cheerleader?

Debbie always dreamed of
having a horse. This was
on a trip.

Debbie thought she was a princess with her hair up in fifth grade. She couldn’t take it down because
she did in fourth grade and got in trouble when her mom saw the picture. In fourth grade she never did beat this one boy (the fastest in the school) in a foot race. He always won by a little bit. That’s why in the Keyholder’s series, Penny can beat everyone in her school.

Debbie as a grown-up (sort-of)

Receiving the key to the city of Henderson, NV from the mayor.

Debbie and a bear beside the cabin she and her husband bought in the Smoky Mountains where they hope to retire.

Yikes! There goes Debbie’s
hair. She cut it off to donate
to Locks of Lovel They make
wigs for people with cancer.

Debbie gets a little wacky during  a school visit!

The basketball team
Debbie sponsored.

That’s Debbie behind all that
Colorado snow!

Debbie during a school
visit in New York.

Kissing a dragon at
Longwood Gardens

Debbie receiving an award.

Debbie on her scooter

Debbie skydived as research for a book.  She was excited, but also
a little scared.  Her oldest son, Nathan,
went with her.

Debbie is on the right and all smiles inthe plane!  Her son Nathan is up front
with the gloves.

Debbie jumping out of the plane!

That’s Debbie skydiving… and
SCREAMING during “freefall”
(before the parachute opens)!

Debbie loves helping decorate a historic Bucks County home, the Moland House, for a fundraiser.

Debbie and her kids always decorate Christmas
cookies. Sometimes
they get a bit silly (and piratey!)

Another Dadey tradition is the
making of the Gingerbread
House – usually a little bit
of a crazy house!

Debbie dressed for Halloween

Debbie goes mermaid!

Debbie’s Quilts

This Whig Rose quilt was made before the Civil War.  Is is Debbie’s oldest quilt and made by her ancestor, Henrietta Harrison Reeser.

This double wedding ring quilt was made by Debbie’s great grandmother.  It was the last quilt she made before she died in 1934.

Old family quilt, edges are quite worn

Debbie’s grandmother took in sewing to make ends meet after her grandfather died.  She made this quilt with scaps of knit fabric from her customers.

Debbie’s grandmother, Lillie Bailey, pieced this quilt.

This quilt has been well loved.  It was probably made by Lillie
Bailey.

Debbie’s mother pieced this quilt.

This goose was made by Debbie’s mother from the tattered remains of an old family quilt.

Another quilt pieced by Debbie’s mother.  Debbie had all the tops quilted and cherishes each one

This quilt was cross stitched by Debbie’s mother and Debbie used it on her bed as a child.

Debbie cross stitched this quilt and it was used by her husband and her for many years.

This Dresden quilt piece was made by Lillie Bailey, Debbie’s grandmother for a quilt that was never made.
