Dear Felicity, I am so happy you like the Mermaid Tales. I got to learn about all sorts of interesting things when I was writing Fairy Chase, including the Skeleton Coast and the people who live nearby, legends about fairies, and diving birds. The next Mermaid Tales book is The Winter Princess. Hope you have a wonderful 2020, Debbie
Dear Amanda, Happy New Year! Adolf, I do not have fish, but have had them. I like fish. I plan to write more about them and have written about them in my Mermaid Tales series. Yes, I definitely think it is important to study about whatever you wish to write about. And learning about fish is great fun too! Have a great new year’s eve, Debbie
Dear Friends, I wish you the happiest of holidays. I will be taking off looking at my website’s mail until December 30th. I will be enjoying time with my family, going to church, and reading good books! I look forward to answering your letter on the 30th! God bless, Debbie
Dear Amanda, If I was a mermaid, I’d want to be in Ready, Set, Goal! because it would be so fun to go to the lost city of Atlantis. But since I’m not a mermaid, I’ll go with Santa Claus Doesn’t Mop Floors. Have a great weekend, Debbie
Dear Raquel, The book that took me the longest to write was Cherokee Sister. The hardest Bailey School Kids book to write was Ghosts Don’t Eat Potato Chips. The hardest Mermaid Tales book to write was The Crook and The Crown.
A big holiday hello to Madelyn and Sahinee. Have a good week, Debbie
Dear Rosie, Merry early Christmas to you too! My best present will be spending time with my family. What do you want under your tree? God bless, Debbie
Dear Amanda, The Googly Eyed Stubby Squid is so cute! I wrote about squid and octopus in Treasure in the Deep Blue Sea, but the Googly Eyed Stubby Squid is not actually a squid. I look forward to learning more about it. Thanks!
DJ, yes! Have a great Thursday and God bless, Debbie
Dear Madelyn, You are right! I don’t believe you, but it’s a fun story. Which Mermaid Tales book do you think a fox likes? Maybe Wish Upon a Starfish? Best, Debbie
Dear Patti, Merry Christmas to you! Hope you enjoy these holiday stories, Debbie
Dear Amanda, Boxing Day is an English tradition of giving servants gifts and the day off on the day after Christmas. I love books as presents!
Dari, I’m so glad you liked 1-10 of the Mermaid Tales. Did you get them in the Sea-tacular Collection? I debated about staircases in Pearl’s house, but I decided it would be a way to say her house is fancy.
Taylor, my son Nathan is my favorite author! We wrote Slime Time and Slime Wars together. My Keyholder series is a little harder, but it is hard to recommend a book without knowing what you like.
I hope everyone had a lovely Thanksgiving. Stay warm and safe, Debbie
