Dear Kristy and Miranda, I am so glad you enjoy the The Winter PrincessMermaid Tales books. Valentina, why is Kiki your favorite? Guess what? Today I will be reading from a yet-to-be released Mermaid Tales book, The Winter Princess. It will be on YouTube Live at 2:00 Eastern time. Hope you’ll be able to join me. You can watch it later, along with my others.
Rosie S., that is cool! Amanda, I will always be an author since I have books published and I am happy about that. I hope to always be a writer too! Raquel, I made my original website pretty much by myself and I shared it with Marcia T. Jones. Then I made a new website and used much of the information from that site, but in a new format designed by my webmasters, Fred’s Used Websites. They know a lot more about websites that I do! They added this new video that I made for my newest book. Stay well and stay home. God bless, Debbie

Dear Amanda, Maybe a Mermaid Tales movie will happen some day! Stay safe and well. Today I will be doing a live Question and Answer session through the Jefferson City Public Library. Ask an adult to sign you up. It will begin at 2:00 Eastern today, but I think you have to sign up beforehand. Best, Debbie

Dear Farisha, I just saw your note and hope you are doing well. I am so glad you enjoyed the Polar Bear Express. Did you know it is my favorite Mermaid Tales book? I hope you are writing lots of poems while home from school. Maybe you’d like to try these poetry cards.
Did you know I will be doing a Zoom Interview tomorrow at 2:00 Eastern time? Ask an adult about it and stop in to ask me live questions. Happy poetry writing, Debbie

Dear Kazhe, Sending a virtual high five back! Stay Ogres Don’t Hunt Easter Eggssafe and well. Rosie S, I did have a nice Easter and I hope you did as well. I got up at sunrise to sing a song on my back porch and watched an Easter service on the computer with my husband. Not a normal Easter for sure, but certainly a memorable one! I don’t Ready, Set, Goal!think many of us will forget this crazy year!
Amanda, which Mermaid Tales book do you think would be the best movie? What about Ready, Set, Goal! where they go to the lost city of Atlantis and have to find a way to get rid of a curse? Have a great week, Debbie

Dear Rosie S., Most of the time I write using my computer. When I think my story is the best it can be I will send it to my agent or editor by email. There will usually be lots of rewriting by me using my agent’s and editor’s suggestions. This will all be on standard-sized paper. It is only in the final printing process that it is formatted for the smaller size.
Raquel, everyone makes mistakes. Hopefully they are caught before they go to print though!
Madelyn, you could be having seasonal allergy problems, like me (itchy eyes and scratchy throat). Tell an adult if you are coughing a lot and feel hot.
Amanda, thanks for your thoughtful advice to ‘I’d Cupid Doesn’t Flip Hamburgersrather not say my name’. Some people like to stay home a lot and some people don’t. I think it has to do with personalities. I hope after this pandemic is over you will get the chance to make new friends, maybe through library programs or home school groups in your area. DJ, congratulations!
Tomorrow at 2:00 Eastern I will be reading aloud from Cupid Doesn’t Flip Hamburgers on YouTube Live. If you have a suggestion for me to read something aloud on YouTube, please share it here. Stay well and stay home my friends, Debbie

Dear I’d rather not say my name, You are so right! We must stay home. Anyone could be carrying the virus without even knowing it. We must stay away to stop the spread. I am so sorry about your friend’s dad. Please stay home and stay safe.
I was feeling a bit sad yesterday and my daughter cheered me up by FaceTiming me and making her head into a poopy face! I laughed so hard. I know these times are difficult and it’s sometimes hard to look on the bright side, but there will be a end to this pandemic and we have to do our best to get through it. If you are feeling down, do something to cheer yourself up. Try reading, writing, or drawing. Perhaps you can try drawing with Mrs. Zork. Watch or create your own silly video. Stay well my friends, Debbie

Rosie, I hope you will enjoy Angels Don’t Know Karate, Mermaids Don’t Run Track, and Ghouls Don’t Scoop Ice Cream. Stay cool Raquel and Amanda! God bless, Debbie

Dear Kazhe, It was nice to hear from you. I like reading real ‘paper’ books the best, but I’ve been reading a lot of ebooks lately due to the virus. The Mermaid Tales books are available as ebooks.
Suzy, the virus will continue to spread if people don’t stay home. We need to stay home to stay safe. Take this time to draw a picture, write a story, write a song, or play a game. We will get through this. I will pray for your continued safety. God bless, Debbie

Dear Leyna and Amanda, Thanks so much for the book love. And speaking of love, I will be reading from Cupid Doesn’t Cook Hamburgers next Friday at 2:00 on my YouTube Channel and tomorrow I’ll read my most embarrassing story! Hope you’ll join me. As per Raquel’s request, I will read from my upcoming book, The Winter Princess on April 17th at 2:00.
Rosie S., I think Vampires Don’t Wear Polka Dots, Werewolves Don’t Go to Summer Camp, and Ghosts Don’t Eat Potato Chips are about tied for the most popular Bailey School Kids book. Do you have a favorite? Good luck DJ! Stay safe and stay at home, Debbie

Dear Amanda, Thanks for your nice words. Please tell your friends I said hello! Your question from the other day made me think of a book that I wrote with my good friend, Marcia Thornton Jones, called Werewolves Don’t Go To Summer Camp. Stay awesome and safe, Debbie
