Dear Princess Kayla, Please tell your sister Liliana, I said hello. You have been busy this summer break. I am glad you like the video trailer for The Winter Princess. That book will actually be out July 7th. Check out the summer reading contest on my home page to win a mermaid gift pack. I like to think every girl is a princess, so yes I am a princess! I am a mix of Echo, Shelly, Kiki, and Pearl-because in some ways I’m like each of them. Did you know you can write for a MerStyle magazine? Check out the information on #4.
Anika, I am delighted that you liked The Polar Bear Express. Did you see these poetry cards? Thanks for the kind words, Katherine, Kayla and Dylan.
Harmony, can you believe Marcia Jones and I wrote a book about wrestling called Vikings Don’t Wear Wrestling Belts?
Happy belated birthday to Layla and Riley’s sister. Riley, I hope you had fun as a flower girl. I have never been one so I wrote about it in Flower Girl Dreams! Rosea, thanks for writing. Did you have a favorite book of mine? Stay safe my friends and wear a mask when around others outside your family, Debbie

Dear Suzy, It’s great to hear from you. I agree, the pandemic is awful. I’ve been coping some by reading a lot. IWhat makes you feel better? I think my books would probably be rated PG or G.
Anyelina, dolphins are totally cool! Did you know they are a type of whale? Hope you have a good week. Stay safe my friends and please wear a mask or bandana over your mouth and nose if you go out, Debbie

Dear Sawyer, Wow! Thanks for reading all the Mermaid Tales books. I’m so glad you liked them. My next one, The Winter Princess, comes out on July 7th and is available for order now. If an adult you know wants to repost my Facebook author page post today (or my Twitter post) they can enter to win a mermaid gift pack.

Ama, I’m glad you enjoyed the first three Mermaid Tales stories. I am a Christian, so I believe in God. I write about mermaids because I enjoy folklore and Fairy Chasemyths, which is where I think mermaid stories belong. The Mermaid Tales are published by Simon and Schuster. Since you are interested in writing, I hope you’ll check out my writing page for activities, videos, and podcasts. Because you live in West Africa, it might interest you to know Fairy Chase talks a bit about the Skeleton Coast of Africa. I am curious to see what you think about that story. Stay safe and well.
I will be on YouTube Live today at 2:00 Eastern time in the US, reading from Ghouls Don’t Scoop Ice Cream. I hope you can join me. Your friend, Debbie

Dear friends, I decided to do both. A fan on Facebook asked me to read Books vs Looks this Friday and then I’ll do my favorite Bailey School Kids chapter from Ghouls Don’t Scoop Ice Cream the next Friday. I’ll be reading aloud on my YouTube channel at 2:00 Eastern, where you can check out my previous readings anytime. Stay well, stay safe, and wear a mask when you go out, Debbbie

Dear Emily, I am doing okay. I hope you and your The Narwhal Problemfamily are well. Kazhe, I can’t do a Question and Answer on Youtube because Youtube’s new policy will not allow kid’s videos to have comments. I could do it on Facebook Live though. Would you be interested in that?

Ella, I’m not sure which books of mine you have read. Did you know I have a whole series about mermaids Martians Don’t Take Temperaturescalled Mermaid Tales? Since you have a stuffed narwhal, you might really like The Narwhal Problem! Here I am reading from that book.
Hope you’ll join me today at 2:00 Eastern on YouTube Live as I read from Martians Don’t Take Temperatures. See you soon, Debbie
