Dear Friends, If you live anywhere near Lexington, KY I hope you’ll talk your adult into a trip to the Kentucky Book Fair. It will be at Joseph Beth Booksellers at 161 Lexington Green Cir B, Lexington, KY 40503 tomorrow from 10-4:00. There will be 140 authors, including me. I will be in a tent outside with books of mine to autograph and time to chat. I hope to see you, Debbie
Dear Maite, Thanks so much for writing. I’m excited that you like my books so much. Is one series your favorite? Have a great day, Debbie
Dear Amarah, I’m so glad you are a big fan of the Mermaid Tales. Do you have a favorite? Your friend, Debbie
Dear Ella, I won’t be doing anything special for Halloween either. Maybe I’ll read a spooky book! Stay safe and wear a mask, Debbie
Dear Ella L., No, I don’t have any Halloween plans either. I will be glad when everyone is vaccinated so life can get back to closer to normal! Stay well and happy reading, Debbie
Dear Ella L, It’s great to hear from you! How is school? It’s hard to believe Halloween is just around the corner. Will you be trick or treating this year? Stay well, Debbie
Dear Sarah, You are a good reader! Howie is allergic to dogs. Luckily, some dogs have less dander than others. My oldest son is allergic to cats and some dogs so I have a little experience in knowing that some cats and dogs makes him sneeze right away and some don’t. He could be around our dogs, but he couldn’t sleep in the same room with them. (We probably should have said something about that in Leprechauns Don’t Play Fetch.) You can listen to a podcast today about the Bailey School Kids book. Have a great week, Debbie
Dear Friends, If you like the Bailey School Kids, ask your adult if you can join tonight’s FREE Zoom meeting. At 7:00 ET tonight, for the first time the Carnegie Center for Literacy and Learning will bring together Marcia Thornton Jones (co-author), myself, Pearl Low (Oscar award winning graphic artist of 1st the first Bailey School Kids graphic novel, along with special guests like John Steven Gurney (originial Illustrator) and our graphic novel Graphix Books editor (a division of Scholastic). Hope you’ll join this FREE Zoom event. Here’s the link, but you can also find it through the Carnegie Center. Please only do this with an adult knowing and saying it is okay. Look forward to Zooming with you tonight. Feel free to chat your questions! Best, Debbie
Dear Lily, It’s great to hear from you again. I really liked my fourth grade teacher, but I did get into big trouble for talking too much. Hope your year is awesome, Debbie
Dear Geetika, I’m so glad The Crook and the Crown is your favorite Mermaid Tales book. I do like mysteries! My newest Mermaid Tales book is a bit of a mystery as well. After all, what is the mysterious thing hiding in the dark at Shelly’s sleepover? OOh, hope that’s not too scary!
I have lots of favorite books, including The Polar Bear Express and my newest, the Vampires Don’t Wear Polka Dots graphic novel. Have a super awesome, fin-tastic week! Your friend, Debbie
