   Dear Ella L., It is hard to pick a favorite Mermaid Tales character because they are each a little like me! I like sports like Shelly, dancing like Echo, reading like Kiki, and even dressing up in pretty clothes (on occasion) like Pearl. Have a fin-tastic week, Debbie

   Ella L., I think none of us will forget the past two years. Emma, I know what you mean. Reading is a great way to escape from troubles for while.

   Dear Emma and Ella L., Happy New Year! Won’t it be strange to write 2022? Emma, I’m so glad you enjoyed The Worst Name in Third Grade. Can you believe I actually received a note from a teacher who had the same name as Bridgett? She asked if I wrote the book about her. I had just made the name up!

    Dear Clara, Wow, it sounds like you have learned a lot about the Titanic. That was such an interesting passage. Where did you learn about her? I like reading books about it.
