Dear Kamryn, Two of my favorite Bailey School Kids books for this time of year are Zombies Don’t Play Soccer and Skeletons Don’t Play Tubas. It is hard to pick just one! Do you have a favorite?
Jack, I don’t know those books. I will have to check them out.
Madelyn, It is funny that you should ask about a new series. A publisher just asked me to submit a proposal for one. Fingers crossed that it works out! You’re right, The Sea-tacular Collection does come out in November. It can be pre-ordered now with an adult. Have a fin-tastic week! Your friend, Debbie
Dear Elijah, Click here to get some ideas on what to write about. You might also like to check out my writing page. Kamryn, I just visited a school that gave every kid a copy of Ghosts Don’t Eat Potato Chips. How cool is that?
Lorelai, I’m so glad you like Mermaid Tales! Have a great week, Debbie
Dear Raquel, The first book I ever read was a reading book about Tom, Betty, Susan, and a dog named Flip. It was a reading series. The first series I wrote was The Adventures of the Bailey School Kids. I wrote it with my friend Marcia.
Madelyn, I wish you good luck. I hope everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving, Debbie
Dear Cate, I’m so glad you like my books. Do you have a favorite? Carly Ane, it usually takes around a month to make a Mermaid Tales book. Flora, I’ve very curious. What book does your whole class love? Need a warm book to read on a snowy day? Have a great week and happy reading, Debbie
Dear Mollie, I’m so glad you enjoyed Trouble at Trident Academy. I hope you’ll like the second Mermaid Tales book, Battle of the Best Friends.
Amanda, it sounds like you had a super lucky day yesterday! Shalu, Mars was the Roman god of war and I guess the planet was named after him. Have a great week, Debbie
Dear Jenna, I like Mars! I even wrote a book about it (sort of) with my friend Marcia. Have a great week, Debbie
Dear A.B., I do like the idea of the merkids teaching humans to take better care of the ocean. I will think about it putting humans in a story. Guess what? There is a new Mermaid Tale book today: It is the Sea-tacular Collection!
Shalu, yes it’s true-sort of. Scientists have been going back and forth about Pluto! You will be very interested in doing research about it. Best, Debbie
Dear Ana and Sarah, good luck with your writing. I hope you’ll check out my writing page for tips. Johnny, you are right. Pluto was reclassified from a planet to a dwarf planet in 2006. Have a great week and if you live near Charlotte, NC I hope you’ll come see me at the EpicFest on Saturday. Best, Debbie
Dear Madelyn, You are very observant! I do see what you mean about The Lost Princess. Mayor Denby does look a little like Rocky, but if you look carefully Mayor Ride does have the same face shape and mouth as Mayor Ridge. I’ve actually been working on a story that has Rocky more involved. Have a Happy Halloween! Best, Debbie
Dear Shalu, Good luck on your solar system project. I wonder if you’d like this Halloween story? Best, Debbie
